Oiconomy Pricing Lab consortium created
This week we submitted the pre-proposal to the Dutch science funding agency NWO for the National Science Agenda (NWA). The NWA enables universities to build consortia with the aim to make a positive, structural contribution to the society of tomorrow. In the last months we have been building a strong consortium with 9 (applied) universities in the Netherlands and across continents, business, intermediates and government agencies.
The Oiconomy Pricing Lab focusses on NWA route “Sustainable development goals for inclusive global development”, but also answers questions in “Sustainable production of safe and healthy food” and “Quality of the living environment”. The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) require fundamental changes in global production and consumption networks. Currently, value creation as expressed in sales prices of products does not reflect all costs of production activities. Environmental, social, and socio-economic externalities are hidden. These costs of negative impacts of pollution, poverty and inequality are born by others, including future generations. As a solution to this problem, Oiconomy Pricing enables companies to calculate the distance-to-sustainability, based on preventive costs, addressing all Planet, People and Prosperity-aspects.
The Oiconomy Pricing Lab comprises actors from the entire knowledge chain to work on further methodological development, artificial intelligence for data mining and disclosure, training and development, and the creation of benchmarks. This transdisciplinary consortium brings together knowledge and expertise of sustainability entrepreneurs to facilitate corrective actions in global value chains.
